An Exclusive Adventure to the Amazon Rainforest, the Mighty Iguazu Falls and the Marvelous Rio de Janeiro

A Taste of Amazon Life: an Amazon Dweller Shows Us His Traditions, Customs
and Distinctive Perspective on Life (private tour)

  • Learn first-hand about the traditions, customs and distinctive perspective on life of a "caboclo" (Amazon dweller)

It’s time hop on our boat and navigate down the Amazon river to learn first-hand about the traditions, customs and distinctive perspective on life of a "caboclo" (Amazon dweller). We’ll learn about his life, customs, and how caboclos make a living off the jungle that surrounds them. This is a unique chance to experience and interact with one of the locals that call the Amazon basin their home.

These local communities are known as Caboclos and there are more than 15,000 caboclo families spread out along the hundreds of communities along the Rio Negro (Black River). Caboclos are self-sustaining and live off the land by growing their own produce, fishing, and fruit gathering, as well as harvesting rubber. Many communities also make a living from tourism by selling their handicrafts to tourists as well as by selling their produce to cities.

During our visit, we’ll visit one Caboclo who will help us gain an understanding of how Caboclos make a living, which includes a glimpse into the production of rubber, the industry that once placed the Amazon at the heart of the opulent world rubber trade.

Our visit with the Caboclo comes to an end as we head back to our lodge with the newfound insight into the lives of the inhabitants of the Amazonian jungle.

Since you’ll be doing this tour with your own private vehicle and guide, you’ll be able to enjoy each attraction at your own pace; making all of the stops you want while enjoying personalized assistance and care from your expert guide.
