It seemed impossible. Three generations, seven people, 10 days, 4 locations, domestic travel, tours, transfers, and accommodations. All worry-free and tailor-made.
— Robert & Laura Shrewsbury and Family
I so appreciated the attention to detail, as that can make or break a trip (especially with kids). In the end, we had a fantastic time without any stress.
— Bridget & Carl Long and Family
We are a 3 generational family, group of 10 and have been all over the world together. Fred and his team were by far the best travel experts we have used.
— Karen Mintzer and Family
We were 22 people, ranging in ages from 8 to 80, traveling to 4 cities in twelve days. So seamless and easy, I wish I could have them with me for all my travels from now on!!!
— Susan & Ari Spar and Family
The local guides were not typical at all; with each one it was like spending a day with a local friend.
— Gary & Nyasia Dewaal
Great guides. Some of whom are now our friends too.
— Edward & Michelle Geil
They work to have the best guides you will ever find! They were highly knowledgeable, personable, and attentive, beyond what we have experienced with all our other travels.
— Jean & Donald Erickson
Each of the tour guides were not only exceptionally knowledgeable, they shared such insight about the culture and lifestyle.
— Kevin & Laura Meeks
We've traveled on all seven continents and Argentina Exploration Journeys provided the best service we've ever experienced.
— Barbara & Timothy Blair and Family
We have been across the globe with many different tour companies but Fred and Exploration Journey's has been the best so far.
— Michael & Victoria Easterly and Family
My wife and I have traveled all over the world and have been on hundreds of private and group tours as well as over 20 cruises. We have never had as great of an experience as what we received from Fred and his staff.
— Roger & Leann Keyes
We travel all over the world (I am a retired officer of United Airlines) and this trip was one of the best trips ever!
— Marcia Kaminsky & Family
We have been very fortunate to work with some of the well-known 'name' travel companies and their affiliates for trips to Africa, Australia, China and Italy, as well as our personal travel agent of 20 years. No company or individual has ever provided anything close to the perfection we received from Fred and his team.
— Arthur Muchin and Claire Levenberg
Having traveled to over 40 countries, I have had quite a few tour companies in the past. I have never encountered such professionalism, detail, genuine care, elegance, and speed!
— Monica Zayas, Eugenia Salinas & Family
We both work for the United Nations and have lived and worked in many different countries, but I don't think I have ever had the same sense of the personal touch as that which I experienced with your company. From beginning to end, exceptional.
— Duncan Barclay & Anne Gunning
We design and operate every trip directly. No middlemen, no handoffs, no excuses. The same team that helps you plan your trip is the same team supporting you while you travel. We never outsource your care.
When medical emergencies happen
Fred even made a personal appearance when we needed some emergency medical assistance. We would never have been able to work through a Buenos Aires emergency room like we did, without him.
If it had not been for his assistance, we would have missed some of the very best parts of the trip.
— Joe & Mary Lou Mahoney
When airlines strike
When a national airline strike was underway, we were swiftly booked on an overnight bus trip. Without Fred's prompt action, we would have missed the impressive Iguazu falls.
— Kathy & Tony Haynes
When your luggage goes missing
I had lost my baggage in El Calafate airport, but before I figured how I should act, Fred did everything he could and ensured I got my bag back the very next day.
— Saranya Gnanasekaran & Family
When your child gets sick abroad
Fred was truly a lifesaver. Our son ended up getting pretty sick and Fred was available 24 hours a day to help us coordinate doctors, thermometers, hotel staff, drivers and translators.
He gave us huge peace of mind and truly helped us navigate what was a challenging situation.
— Jonathan & Lauren Shapiro and Family
When problems strike at 3 AM
We only had one incident of a domestic flight cancellation, but it was handled in the middle of the night. Our 3:00 am under door envelope contained new boarding passes and timelines.
I don't think Fred or John ever sleep. There is simply no way I could have rearranged this myself without several unintended consequences and stress.
— Della Borlund and Thomas Borlund III
When life throws a curveball
When life dealt us a cancer card, all details were rebooked with a level of empathy only provided to us by friends and family.
— Johanna & Dan McDonald
Before you even know there's a problem
At one point, one of our domestic flights was cancelled by the airline. Before we even knew about the cancellation, Fred had worked with the airline to check us into another flight that worked just as well.
By the time we knew there might be an issue, Fred had already resolved it.
— Roxanne Lippel and Karen Ziner
When mobility becomes a challenge
Just prior to leaving the US, Wanda experienced an injury to her leg necessitating the use of a cane and wheelchair.
Had Fred not been there, and had the tour guides he chose not been who they were, this trip could have been a total disaster. Instead, it was, without a doubt, the best trip ever.
— Russell Haig and Wanda Wood
When you lose your phone
The thing I will never forget besides the beauty of Argentina was the effort they went through to find my lost cell phone.
I thought I would never see that phone again or my pictures of the glaciers and waterfalls I had already taken.
— Carol Macdonald and Michael Swaidner
When getting home seems impossible
There was an unannounced airline strike on the day we were to fly home. We were stranded in Ushuaia because flights for the next 5 days were fully booked!
Fortunately, Fred and his local team helped us promptly return home, leaving through Chile.
— Barbara & Christopher Gootkind and Family
When flights get cancelled
When we had a last-minute flight cancellation, Fred and John quickly rebooked us and communicated every step so we never felt lost.
We saw others struggling to reach their agencies, while Fred and John were always just a call away.
— Charlene & Gary Mcneil
When you're rushed to the hospital
When I was rushed to the hospital in Buenos Aires for appendicitis, Fred went above and beyond.
He came to the hospital frequently during my stay, providing essential Spanish-English translation between the doctors, nurses, and us.
— Louise Laurence and Douglas Hamilton
When you leave your phone behind
When I forgot my phone in the car that took us to the airport, John went out of his way to track it down and bring it to me personally so that I would not miss my flight.
— Ana & Elena Dinca
When storms ground your flight
We had a flight delayed and cancelled due to a heavy storm in Buenos Aires.
Fred informed us at 4 AM, checking alternatives and booking us new flights to secure availability, even before our original flight was officially cancelled.
— Nelly Ng and Boon Hong Teo and Family
When medical issues arise
When I needed to see a dentist, Fred arranged a driver / translator and made an appointment immediately. He followed up several times to ensure that all was well.
— Ronald & Linda Martinez
When your flight cancels. Twice.
When our flight was cancelled and then cancelled again, they found us a flight on a different airline and rescheduled the tour we missed due to the delay.
— Christine & Phillip Kenny
When illness strikes mid-trip
My wife got a touch of food poisoning one day and they rearranged our amazing boat trip into the Iguazu falls to accommodate us.
— Edward & Michelle Geil
When you leave things behind
On 2 occasions, we forgot things at a hotel and a restaurant.
He contacted the places and even had 1 item brought back to the US with one of his clients.
— Rana and Salim Haddad & Family
When plans change last minute
Just a few weeks before our trip began, one of our flights in Argentina was cancelled.
Fred rearranged our entire itinerary within a couple of days or less. Imagine having to do that yourself!
— Lynn & Roger Iverson

An Exquisite Welsh Tradition: Tea Time at Gaiman Village This quaint and charming town appears to have been arrested in time: streets with irrigation ditches watering trees not native to Patagonia, and buildings brought in from faraway lands - such as chapels constructed by the Welsh upon arriving to Patagonia in the 19th century. Added to this seemingly age-old land, there are customs that have been brought into it from afar: such as the traditional Welsh tea, prepared according to ancient customs that give it a unique flavor and perfume; all accompanied by delicious cake. One of Gaiman’s most prominent visitors came to this region of Patagonia in 1995: Lady Diana, Princess of Wales, was there to enjoy a leisurely 5 o’clock tea. This is a group tour done on the same day you do your Punta Tombo’s Magellanic Penguins tour. |
DAY 4: PENINSULA VALDES |
|
Peninsula Valdes’ Unique Marine Fauna Heaven & A Visit to the world’s second largest colony of Magellanic penguins (San Lorenzo Ranch) Peninsula Valdes is one of the largest marine wildlife reserves in the entire world, and a prime spot for viewing a diverse collection of wildlife. It was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO because of its global significance as a marine wildlife refuge for several threatened species. The scenic Peninsula Valdes, where arid landscapes contrast with the blue crystalline sea, is home to an important breeding population of the endangered southern Right Whale (whale season takes place from June to early December), southern sea lions, orcas (also known as “killer whales”), Magellanic penguins (penguin season is from mid-September to early April), as well as the largest continental colony of southern elephant seals in the entire world. National Geographic listed the Peninsula Valdes as one of the 10 best places in the world for whale-watching. The inner part of the peninsula boasts rheas, guanacos (American Llama), hairy armadillos, ostriches and maras (very similar to hares). A high diversity and range of birds live in the peninsula as well; at least 181 species. This is a full-day private tour. |

DAY 9: EL CALAFATE |

Seven Panoramic Boardwalks of the Mighty Perito Moreno Glacier Prepare to visit one of the world’s most awe-inspiring and unique glaciers: The Perito Moreno. This bright white ice giant showcases its mighty glory in the Patagonian Glaciers National Park, which has been declared Mankind’s Natural Heritage site by UNESCO. The park’s vast size not only gives it the distinction of being the largest ice mantle in the world, after Antarctica, but also the third largest fresh water reserve on the planet. The Perito Moreno is of the few glaciers in the world actually growing and advancing, as opposed to the majority of the world’s glaciers, which are retreating and melting due to the effects of global warming. The ice that serenely sits above the water measures an impressive 262 feet (80 meters), which is just about the height of a 25-story building! And while that’s an incredibly large size for the human eye to take in, consider that this measurement is only 15% of the glacier’s total height. Five times more ice is hidden underwater. Our destination is the panoramic boardwalks which overlook the Perito Moreno Glacier. Here, amidst the backdrop of the majestic, snow-capped Andes, you’ll find yourself immersed in an unforgettable glacier experience, while enjoy amazing picture-taking opportunities from the seven panoramic balconies facing the front of the glacier. While the glacier itself is definitely the main attraction, the park also boasts remarkable scenery as well as glacial streams, small lagoons, crevasses, gullies, and plenty of ice formations that’ll dazzle the eye, surrounded by the scenic beauty of the Andes Mountain range, lakes and forest areas. This is a full-day group tour. |
|
The Mighty Perito Moreno Glacier Close-up Navigation Experience Take in the sheer size and beauty of the Perito Moreno Glacier as it towers before you, from an exciting close-up perspective, as we cruise across the pristine waters of the Rico Branch of the Argentino Lake, which borders the Southern wall of the Perito Moreno Glacier. The sheer magnitude of the southern wall alone is a humbling and inspiring sight. We’ll be stopping about 985 feet (300 meters) away from the southern wall of the glacier for some epic picture-taking opportunities that will showcase the grand scale and beauty of the glacier. This will be definitely a different perspective from what you experience on the panoramic boardwalks. This navigation is a 1-hour group tour done on the same day you do the Perito Moreno Glacier tour. |
DAY 10: EL CALAFATE |
|
Icy Blue Giants: Navigate the Largest Patagonian Glaciers and take the most Awe-inspiring Glacier Photos (in boat’s VIP section) Hop aboard as we embark on a journey to admire the second-largest glacier in South America, the Upsala, as well as the Spegazzini Glacier (the tallest in the Glaciers National Park and quite impressive to see), along with several Patagonian ice giants and beautiful iceberg formations that are only accessible by boat. The glaciers’ scale is imposing, and their colors remarkable, ranging from pure white to deep shades of blue. We’ll settle into our seats inside the exclusive VIP cabin on the upper deck, where we’ll enjoy superior panoramic views along with enhanced comfort and service. On our way to the Upsala and Spegazzini Glaciers, we’ll have excellent photo opportunities as we pass icebergs of incredible and diverse shapes and sizes. During this tour, we’ll also disembark at Glaciers Bay for about an hour and a half to visit a lakeside retreat. There, you’ll have time to explore the walkways leading to viewpoints with unique perspectives of the Spegazzini Glacier and enjoy a lunch of traditional local cuisine, accompanied by non-alcoholic beverages and wine. This is a full-day group tour and includes lunch with water, soft drinks, wine and beer. |
DAY 11: LAST DAY IN EL CALAFATE |
Transfer in private vehicle to El Calafate airport. You will take a flight to Buenos Aires and from there you will take another flight to Iguazu. |
DAY 11: YOU ARRIVE IN IGUAZU (staying for 3 nights, with 4 tours included) |
Flight arrival in Iguazu. Welcome at airport and private transfer to your hotel. Depending on your flight arrival time, you can relax at your hotel, enjoy your own explorations, or ask our local representative about suggested activities for your free time. |
DAY 12: IGUAZU |
|
Witness the Unique Power & Might of the Iguazu Falls from the Argentine Side (private tour) “You might have seen the photos. Even read about it. You might have visited other great waterfalls before. But you probably still have no idea what to expect when you come face to face with the almighty Iguazu Falls,” stated CNN in their article “Iguazu Falls: Why this natural wonder should be on everyone’s bucket list". To put that into perspective, Iguazu Falls is nearly twice as tall as Niagara Falls and nearly three times as wide. The late U.S. First Lady, Eleanor Roosevelt, was reportedly so impressed by the sight of Iguazu Falls that she exclaimed “Poor Niagara!” In 1984, Iguazu Falls became a UNESCO World Heritage Site; and in 2011, it was selected as one of the 7 winners of the “New Seven Wonders of Nature” worldwide competition in which more than 100 million votes were cast. Their size and scale are unlike any other waterfall on Earth. Made up of a system of 275 waterfalls, they have a staggering water flow of up to almost 3.5 million gallons (13 million liters) per second – enough to fill five Olympic swimming pools! Unlike Niagara Falls, which is surrounded by developments such as casinos, a revolving restaurant, and coffee shops, Iguazu Falls are located within one of the few remaining inland rainforests in South America, the Atlantic rainforest, which is a haven for more than 2,000 plant species, about 400 birds species, and 80 types of mammals! This is a full-day private tour. |
DAY 13: IGUAZU |
|
Behold the Breathtaking Panoramic Views of Iguazu Falls from the Brazilian Side (private tour) With 80% of the falls located on the Argentine side, it is only from the Brazilian side that one can see almost all of them at once, in full, breathtakingly panoramic views. The Brazilian side offers majestic scenic views of the beauty and entirety of the falls; this is because the Brazilian footbridge lies across the river from the falls, offering a unique perspective and epic scenic views, making the Brazilian side different and absolutely complementary to the experience from the Argentine side. This is a half-day private tour. |
|
A Speedboat Adventure Up-Close the Iguazu Falls Get ready for a thrilling speedboat adventure, enjoying a unique, up-close perspective of the majestic Iguazu Falls and experience a different viewpoint of the falls from what you’ll see from the panoramic boardwalks. Our speedboat will zip the waters of the Iguazu River and approach the falls getting thoroughly splashed by their mist as you hear their loud roar! This ride provides a unique and extremely close-up view of the Three Musketeers falls with the opportunity to take outstanding close-up photos. To get to the boat dock you’ll ride a truck through the jungle and continue with a navigation up the Iguazu River canyon by the river rapids. Now it’s time to hop on board and begin our waterfall adventure! This tour lasts about 2 hours and is done on the same day you do the Brazilian side of the falls tour. |
|
Walking Among Exotic Birds in the Iguazu Rainforest (private tour) You’re about to enter a one-of-a-kind bird sanctuary! Here you’ll find the largest colony of toucans on display in the world, as well as the largest colony of parrots on display in South America, along with 150 different bird species from Brazil and all over the world, many of them endangered. Located in the midst of the lush tropical rainforest, Foz Tropicana Bird Park is an internationally-recognized rescue and preservation center for endangered birds; and it’s among the most important ones in South America. You’ll find yourself side by side a myriad of exotic birds, in the three walk-in aviaries, where you’ll have the opportunity to have an up-close and personal experience with amazingly colorful parrots and Toco Toucans, among many other birds… all of them right next to you or even flying over your head! In addition to the diversity and beauty of the birds you’ll see, the park itself presents itself as a unique location. It covers nearly 40 acres (16 hectares) of rainforest, so you’re quite literally going to find yourself in the middle of nature as you make your way along the trails! This visit lasts about an hour and a half to two hours and takes place on the same day as your Brazilian side of the falls tour. |
DAY 14: LAST DAY IN IGUAZU |
Transfer in private vehicle to Iguazu airport. |
DAY 14: YOU ARRIVE IN BUENOS AIRES (staying for 2 nights, with 2 tours included) |

Passion and Beauty: an Authentic World-class Tango Experience You are cordially invited to an evening of live music filled with passion, sensuality and dancing, at one of the best Tango venues in Buenos Aires: La Ventana. Located at the heart of the historic San Telmo neighborhood, you’ll enjoy a world-class Tango show in a restored tenement building (or, ‘conventillo’). This enchanting show also boasts unique features of Argentine folklore. As you step through the doors, you’ll feel as though you have traveled back in time, with the interior of the building preserved in its original style. The show at La Ventana is a journey through the history of Tango, in which you’ll experience different and authentic styles of this mesmerizing dance, each with its own particular set of music, dancing style, and costumes. Tango is a universe onto itself as it creates a multi-layered marriage of music, dance, singing and poetry. This tour includes group transfers and dinner with non-alcoholic beverages & wine. |
DAY 15: BUENOS AIRES |
|
Jewish Life & Heritage in Buenos Aires (private tour) The community is the largest in Latin America and the 7th largest in the world. Today, Buenos Aires’ Jewish heritage remains very much preserved. Our Jewish guide will introduce you to some of the unique features of Buenos Aires’ Jewish culture and heritage. We’ll explore the traditional Jewish neighborhood of “Once”. This neighborhood is Buenos Aires’ version of Manhattan’s Lower East Side, and previously bustled with yiddishkeit: Jewish cafes, theatres, a Yiddish press, Jewish schools and businesses. We will also visit what is arguably the most ornate synagogue in Argentina, and also oldest one, dating back to 1897: the Libertad synagogue, built in an impressive fusion of Romantic and Byzantine styles. We’ll also visit the other important Jewish institutions like the site of the new AMIA building, the Jewish Community Center that was bombed by terrorists in 1994 and rebuilt in 1999. This is a 4-hour private tour. |
DAY 16: BUENOS AIRES |
Transfer from your hotel to Ezeiza International Airport in private vehicle. We look forward to welcoming you again in Argentina! |
